It's hard to believe I created this blog almost 2 years ago right after our wedding. I had big plans to fill it with posts about married life and all the work that we were doing on our house, etc, etc, but then sort of forgot about it. So to bring everyone up to speed on life since my last post.....We have done a TON of work on our house since buying it two months before our wedding. We bought an older home in central Phoenix that needed quite a bit of work (I don't recommend doing this in the midst of wedding planning). Since moving in we have laid all new floors, painted every single inch of the walls and cielings, had carpet done in 2 of the bedrooms, put in all new basebaords, somewhat updated the bathrooms, landscaped, new appliances, bought new furniture, etc. We finally got to have a housewarming party this past October and the place is really coming along. We hope to redo the kitchen soon (I can't wait)!
Other than the house we have been both been busy working and playing. I am still working at Banner Good Samaritan on a busy Med/Surg floor. I am currently back in school finishing my BSN (and ready to be done!). Matt is working for a cool company which actually has an office in our ER, so we regularly get to work in the same building. His company deals with in flight emergencies (planes call into their call center when something medical is going down) so he comes home with some very interesting stories. He recently got back to flying as well and just completed his taildrager endorsement. He is now working in his Flight Instructor rating so he can hopefully start instructing soon (and banking some real hours).
Probably the most exciting thing since we have been married is the amazing Europe trip we took this May. We had the amazing opportunity to visit Paris, Florence and Rome for 3 weeks with my parents. Paris was our absolute favorite, mostly becuase we got to stay with my fabulous cousin Kate. She is loads of fun and has an apartment in a great part of the city, it was like having our own tour guide. After we flew home from Rome my parents continued on for another 3 weeks to Portugal and Spain. All in all I think it gave all of us the travel bug.
Well hopefully this gets everyone somewhat caught up on us and Ill try to update more often (especially when I don't have so much pesky homework to do!).
